BWH Ambassadors Leo and Juliana to Expand Leadership and Group Rides

Bike West Hartford proudly introduces our new Ambassadors: Leo Pon and Juliana Cantarelli Vita. Together they will expand our organization’s leadership and community-building work to promote our goal of improving bike-walk-transit for all.

Juliana Cantarelli Vita shares that “biking advocacy has a special place in my heart,” and looks forward to connecting with more cyclists this summer. Originally from Brazil, she moved from Seattle about two years ago and now resides in the Elmwood area of West Hartford. In addition to her work as a ethnomusicologist and music educator at the University of Hartford, she plays with the Hartford Hot Several brass band.

Leo Pon currently leads group bike rides with the CT chapter of the Appalachian Mountain Club, and extends an invitation for Bike West Hartford members to join these friendly social rides. “I love seeing my favorite places for the first time again through the eyes of others,” he explains. Leo has over twenty years of experience working as a paramedic and firefighter. Be sure to ask him about his recent bike trip to the Netherlands.
