Leo Pon invites people to join a bike ride he’s leading, sponsored by the Connecticut Chapter of the Appalachian Mountain Club. Register online on the CT-AMC page > Bicycling > Current Ride List. Here’s the overview:
Tuesday, April 25, 2023, 10:00AM – 12:30PM
Pleasant 22 mile ride through quiet residential streets, over rolling terrain and avoiding larger hills and heavy traffic.
SO (Social – fun group ride, 10-12 mph), FL/RL (Flat and Rolling Hills), RG (Regrouping: Leader waits at rally points during ride)
There will be a coffee/brunch stop near the end of the ride. A bike in good condition, a properly fitting helmet, a spare inner tube, water and snacks are required. Bright clothing, front and rear warning lights recommended.
Starting Location: Meet at Elizabeth Park, West Hartford, in the parking area next to the greenhouses and the new visitor center. Enter Elizabeth Park from Asylum Ave. Additional parking is available behind the visitor center and on most side streets including Walbridge Rd.
