Free Smart Cycling Class, Sunday April 21st 2024, 9am-5pm

Overview: Whether you are a new rider looking for tips on making your first rides more comfortable or an experienced cyclist who wants to teach others how to feel the joy of biking, this Smart Cycling program from the League of American Bicyclists has something for you. 

Whether you want to learn how to feel safer and more confident on your next bike commute or want to learn more about sharing the road, this class is a great place to start. Cycling leaders will acquire techniques to pass on to others. 

The Smart Cycling curriculum is designed to develop the confidence and competence of any bicycle rider. Students will learn about choosing a bicycle, basic parts of a bike, essential equipment, as well as how to safely and comfortably ride your bike in various traffic conditions, terrain and climates. 

The course includes four hours of classroom instruction and four hours of on-bike instruction. This class is limited to 15 and is free for all. The $50 per person tuition is sponsored by the CT-AMC Bicycling Committee. This class is taught by Jacob Sheppard-Saidel, a League Cycling Instructor from the League of American Bicyclists.
