Register online for our free and fun #HartfordBikeParty event on Sunday April 28th 2024.
Meet up 11am at the Elizabeth Park greenhouses. After introductions and a safety check, we will roll out by 11:10am, and return to the park around 1pm.
Our group bike ride is designed to be fun and open to all skill levels, rolling at a friendly pace of 10-12 mph, with no one left behind.
We will ride to downtown Hartford and cross over three bridges near the Connecticut River: Founders Bridge, Charter Oak Bridge, and the I-91 Ped-Bike Bridge. If you don’t like heights, maybe choose a different ride! Note that the Charter Oak Bridge bike lane is separated from high-speed auto traffic by a guard rail. Also, note that the I-91 Ped-Bike Bridge ramp is rideable but steep and twisty, so some people may wish to push their bikes up.
Bring any type of bicycle in good condition, a bike helmet, water bottle, and money if you wish to buy food or drinks at the end.
Free event by Bike West Hartford and co-sponsored by Hartford Bicycle Club. DONATE funds or volunteer time to help us improve walk-bike-transit in all neighborhoods!
Explore our 12-mile bike route, which includes a mix of separated bike path, roads with bike lanes, and roads without bike lanes.
