Our Grand Marshal for this year’s ride is Anne Stanback, a proud LGBTQ rights activist who led the Love Makes a Family coalition that won marriage equality and adoption rights in Connecticut.
We have renamed the event in memory of Dr. Tracey Morgan Wilson, our good friend and strong advocate for the LGBTQ and biking communities!
Our group bike ride is designed to be fun and open to all skill levels, rolling at a friendly pace of 10-12 mph, with no one left behind.
Bring any type of bike in good condition, wear a bike helmet, bring a full water bottle, and money if you wish to buy food or drinks at the end.
Meet up 6pm at BiCiCo West Bike Shop (616 New Park Avenue, West Hartford) for introductions and safety check, and roll out by 6:15pm. Visit BiCiCo before 6pm closing time if you want to shop for bikes or accessories or ask about repairs.
Our 9.5-mile loop includes a mix of separated bike paths, bike lanes, and streets without bike lanes. Families with young children may wish to bike only the first 3 miles along the Trout Brook Trail.
Arrive around 7:30pm at The GastroPark (637 New Park Avenue), and bring money if you wish to buy food or drink.
