Making Progress with West Hartford Vision Zero: Comments on Revised Draft due Jan 26

We send a big THANK YOU to Mayor Shari Cantor and the West Hartford Town Council, Rick Ledwith, Duane Martin, the entire Vision Zero Task Force for listening to community feedback! The Jan 17th meeting of the Community Planning and Economic Development (CPED) committee showed very good progress. Watch the video and read news coverage by Michael Walsh in CT Insider (gift link) and by Ronni Newton in WeHa.com.

The Vision Zero Task Force shared its Jan 12th Revised Draft Action Plan and welcomes public feedback through January 26th. Email comments to VisionZero@WestHartfordCT.gov and please cc: BikeWestHartfordInc@gmail.com.

Also, the Vision Zero Task Force presented its Anticipated Project List for 2024, a potential “Safe Streets for All” federal grant application in February (among other potential near-term grant applications), and the formation of a Vision Zero Advisory Committee in February. They also acknowledged that the Action Plan will be a fluid document — as with quick-builds, we will adapt and adjust the plan as we move forward and learn.

We appreciate that the Town is making progress! We look forward to more details about next steps in 2024 to ensure that we improve safety for residents in *all* neighborhoods.

Kudos to the Town of West Hartford 👏
