Active Learning Bike Safety Launched at Charter Oak School

Bike West Hartford volunteers partnered with Charter Oak International Academy public school to launch our Active Learning Stations for bike safety and free helmets on Friday May 10th 2024, funded by a grant from the CT Department of Transportation and the Capital Regional Council of Governments. “We appreciate partnering with Bike West Hartford to create a special learning event for our students, which will inspire them to be active and stay safe,” said Georgina Rivera, principal at Charter Oak International Academy, located in the Elmwood neighborhood. We freely shared all of our learning resources online at https://BikeWestHartford.org/safety to help other organizations plan their own events.

Bike West Hartford’s next safety and helmet event will be open to all youth at the Celebrate West Hartford festival on Saturday-Sunday June 8-9th during select hours TBA. Volunteer to be trained and assist us at either event by emailing BikeWestHartfordInc@gmail.com
